Instagram launched their new API.

How does it affect your Preview account?

Here is what you need to know.

Step 1. Update your Preview App

Go to your app store, and make sure you have the latest update of Preview installed on your phone.

Step 2. Re-login

⭐️ If you are currently logged in with Facebook in Preview (you can go in your settings in Preview to check this) you are not affected by this change. There is nothing you need to do.

⭐️ If you are logged in with Instagram (you can go to your Preview Settings to see this), you need to do the following.

➡️ If you have a Business or Creator Instagram Account:

• Go to Settings in Preview
• Press “Relink” next to your Instagram username
• Login with the same Instagram account again

➡️ If you don’t have a Business or Creator Instagram Account:

• You have to convert your Instagram account to at least a Creator Account
• This is very simple: Click here to see how to do it.
• After you have done that:
  • Go to Settings in Preview
  • Press “Relink” next to your Instagram username
  • Login with the same Instagram account again

➡️ If you don’t want to convert to a Business or Creator Instagram Account:

• You have to unlink your Instagram account from Preview
• Go to your Preview Settings
• Switch off “Instagram”
• You can continue using Preview, without having Instagram linked to it

The New Instagram API does not support Non-Business and Non-Creator Account.

That’s it!

The old Instagram API will stop working on December 4, 2024.

Step 1. Make sure you have updated your phone to iOS 18.

Step 2. Go to your phone settings and search “Wallpaper“:

Step 5. Tap “Done” to save your new lock screen with the Instagram Camera.

Instagram doesn’t have a feature that allows us to reorder Instagram Highlights (yet).

But there is a trick we can use to rearrange them!

How to Reorder Instagram Highlights

Here’s the trick:

Hold your finger pressed on the Highlight you want to move. Then, tap on “Edit Highlight“:

You will see your “Selected” Stories part of that Highlight.

Now here is the trick: Tap on “Stories” and select a random Story (don’t worry we’re going to remove it next).

Why add the random Story to the Highlight? Because it moves it to the front of the Highlight list under your bio. That’s how Highlights work.

So you might have to plan which order you should edit your Highlights to rearrange them the way you want.

Just remember: The last Highlight you edit will be the Highlight that will appear first in the row.

Once you’re happy with the order of your Highlight, just remove the random Stories you had added.

To remove it, hold your finger on the Highlight again, and unselect the random Story. Removing a Story from a Highlight does not affect the position of your Highlight. Only adding a Story will change the position of the Highlight.

And you’re done!

How to Switch to a Creator Instagram Account

To convert your Personal account to a Creator account on Instagram:

Go to your Instagram Profile and tap on the “Settings” button (top right):

Select “Account type and tools“:

Select “Switch to professional account“, and then you can choose the “Creator” category. Follow the steps on the screen, and you’re done.
